llp’s #CBR5 Review 25: Black Orchid by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean
I was disappointed by this one. I suspect I am missing some of it’s charm, but it just seemed sad and disjointed to me.
llp’s #CBR5 Review 24: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me, by Mindy Kaling
It was a good book – warm, funny, and something I could identify with.
llp’s #CBRV Review 23: Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh
llp’s #CBR5 Review 22: Wool by Hugh Howey
I picked this one up in a tiny bookstore in remote northern Canada, and it was one of the best impulse purchases I have made in ages. I really enjoyed Howey’s Wool.
llp’s #CBR5 Review 21: Gulp by Mary Roach
I liked this book, but I didn’t love it quite as much as I have her previous books.
llp’s #CBR5 Review 18-20: The Sign of Seven Trilogy by Nora Roberts
So, a friend gave these to me for vacation reading. The supernatural parts of the story are fine, but the romance part just leaves me cold. I am not a romance enthusiast.
llp’s #CBR V Review 17: Milking the Moon by Eugene Walter and Katherine Clark
I have loved this book for years, and recently read it again. It is absolutely fun and fascinating.
llp’s #CBR5 Review 16: Girl Walks into a Bar by Rachel Dratch
I first learned of this book earlier in the CBR season. While I didn’t find it as funny as I had anticipated, I found it pretty heartfelt and touching.
llp’s #CBR5 Review 15: The Painted Girls by Cathy Marie Buchanan
I really liked this book – it has an interesting plot, is easy to read, and Buchanan does a good job of differentiating the different voices of the characters.
