Popcultureboy’s #CBR5 Review #99: Tell-All by Chuck Palahniuk

For me, Palahniuk has been off his game for a while now. The heights of Survivor are a very long time ago. But I thought I’d give this a whirl, since it sounded crazy and fun and silly. It’s incoherent and tiresome, utterly devoid of merit. The full disappointed review is on my blog here

  1. Chuck Palahniuk is an author I started reading at just the right time, when I was a teenage boy, and now I just can’t with him. At his best, he’s still a decent writer, I think. Fight Club, Choke. But I have no interest in his more recent work after giving Pygmy a chance. Same thing with Haunted. The guy went from one step above “hack” territory to full-blown hack. Coming from a fan, your review just reaffirms that belief of mine.

    • I realised that I read Porno in one sitting when it was first published and I remember absolutely nothing about it. I haven’t been bothered about reading anything he’s written in ages. I wouldn’t have bothered with Tell-All but there was a copy laying around the house.

  2. Unquestionably imagine that which you said. Your favourite reason
appeared to be on the web the easiest factor to be aware of.

I say to you, I definitely get annoyed even as other people think about concerns that they plainly don’t understand about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as outlined out the whole
thing without having side-effects , folks can
take a signal. Will probably be again to get more.
    Thanks
